The origins on Instagram

On August 27, 2026, AI artist Tatyana Tereshchenko uploaded an AI-generated animation to Instagram. The clip portrays a reimagined take on the classic fairy tale of Rumpelstiltskin.

In the scene, a pale, big-eared man dressed in a formal black tailcoat, white shirt, and black bow tie playfully shushes the camera with a finger on his lips, grins, and tiptoes around piles of hay in a dimly lit barn. As he dances, straw transforms into shimmering gold coins before a crying blonde woman in a white dress.

Not a movie or cartoon character

Because of the character's mischievous grin and pointed shoes, many viewers assumed he was from DreamWorks' Shrek Forever After or a video game cutscene. In reality, the character was generated entirely through AI video models by the artist.

The combination of fairy-tale storytelling and surreal AI motion created an instantly memorable visual loop that quickly caught the attention of video creators.

When the audio changed everything

On September 29, 2026, TikTok users paired the animation with Riff Raff's song 'Tip Toe Wing In My Jawwdinz'.

The combination quickly became a viral meme across social media platforms.
